The branch of the children's polyclinic in the Sortirovka neighborhood of Nizhny Novgorod has resumed seeing young patients after almost a month-long break in operations, reports the Telegram channel "Bokal presseka."

The regional Ministry of Health noted that during the downtime a partial replacement of the electrical wiring was carried out in the building and the entrance area was repaired. This made it possible to restore the provision of urgent medical care to children.

The agency emphasized that closure of the branch is not planned. However, a full-scale capital renovation is currently impossible: the premises are leased from Open Joint-Stock Company Russian Railways (RZD), and any budgetary investments in someone else's property would be considered non-targeted expenditures.

For a comprehensive refurbishment of the building, it is necessary to transfer it into regional ownership. According to the Ministry of Health, the issue of purchasing the premises from RZD is currently being considered by the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

It was previously reported that a new two-story polyclinic accommodating 100 visits per shift will be opened in the Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod.
