      Competitions for the development of projects to widen three sections of the federal highway R-158 "Nizhny Novgorod – Arzamas – Saratov" in the Nizhny Novgorod Region have been temporarily suspended. The reason was received complaints. This information was posted on the state procurement portal.

      Earlier, the Federal State Institution "Administration of the Moscow–Nizhny Novgorod Highway" announced competitions to prepare territory planning documentation for the sections between the 144th and 164th, 176th and 195th, and 229th and 249th kilometers for a total amount of more than 40 million rubles. The work on them was planned to be completed in August–September 2027.

      It also became known that the capital repair project of the R-158 section from the 52nd to the 77th kilometer in the Dalnekonstantinovsky District received a positive conclusion from the state examination. It was previously reported that this stretch is planned to be widened to four lanes in 2025–2026.

      At the same time, the project to widen the section between the 40th and 52nd kilometers has still not been implemented. Work was suspended in June 2025 after the contract with the contractor was terminated. Currently, legal proceedings are underway between the parties.

      In particular, in early September the FSI filed six lawsuits against the contractor LLC "Road Construction Company" for a total amount of almost 290 million rubles.
