      Incidents: Arson may have been the cause of a fire in one of the apartments of a high-rise building on Geroev Kosmosa Street in Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by the regional EMERCOM office.

      The fire broke out on the night of September 25. It covered an area of 10 square meters. EMERCOM personnel who arrived at the scene evacuated 20 people from the smoke-filled building, 10 of whom were rescued using special devices. Among those evacuated were three children.

      The fire was fully extinguished in a short time. EMERCOM investigators continue to determine the circumstances and the exact cause of the blaze.

      "The suspected cause is arson," the agency said.

      Earlier it was reported that one person died as a result of a large fire in the gardening cooperative "Metallurg-3" in Nizhny Novgorod.
