Municipal employees of Nizhny Novgorod will not receive a second pay raise within a year.

      Municipal employees of the Nizhny Novgorod administration will not receive additional wage indexation in 2025. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" was told this by the Department of Personnel Policy and Development of Municipal Administration of the city administration.

      The department explained that the regulation of municipal employees' pay is carried out in accordance with the Law of the Nizhny Novgorod Region of 3 August 2007 No. 99‑Z, as amended on 26 December 2024, titled "On Municipal Service in the Nizhny Novgorod Region."

      According to part 6 of Article 23 of the said normative act, the salaries of municipal employees are subject to indexation depending on the level of inflation. However, such adjustment is made exclusively on the basis of the law on the regional budget for the respective year.

      As the department specified, as of 1 January 2025 salaries had already been indexed by a coefficient of 1.117. At the same time, current legislation does not provide for additional indexations during the year.

      Thus, in 2025 a pay increase for employees of the Nizhny Novgorod administration is not planned.

      Earlier it was reported that the State Duma proposed changing the approach to pension calculations.
