      In the evening of 22 September, a fatal traffic accident involving a cyclist occurred in the Leninsky district. According to the traffic police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Nizhny Novgorod, the tragedy happened at about 17:30 on Druzhby Street near house No. 23.

      A 40-year-old driver of a MAZ truck ran over a cyclist who was crossing the roadway at an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing without dismounting.

      As a result of the collision, the 41-year-old man suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital, but medics were unable to save him — he died in the medical facility.

      Traffic police officers continue to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
