More than 500 participants from Russian regions and other countries will take part in the VI International Forum on Foreign Economic Activity (FEA) "Challenges and Solutions for Business: Territory of Successful Practices" (18+), which will be held in Nizhny Novgorod for the first time on October 21.

Both representatives of Russian regions and foreign countries will participate in the forum. Among the confirmed foreign delegations are representatives from Belarus, India, China, Pakistan, Mongolia, Cuba and Paraguay. Delegations from Tatarstan, Bashkortostan and the Tula, Samara, Kaluga, Pskov and Ryazan regions are also expected to participate. However, their number may increase — organizers are awaiting confirmations to invitations sent earlier.

As Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Dmitry Starostin said at a press conference, the region became the forum's new venue thanks to its high investment appeal and active development of international ties.

"The Nizhny Novgorod Region pays great attention to the development of international cooperation. We see the forum as an opportunity to once again talk about the region's priority areas of international relations, demonstrate our economic potential and attract new partners," Starostin said.

According to the chair of the forum's organizing committee, managing partner of the Just Group Lyudmila Teselkina, the decision to hold the event in Nizhny Novgorod was made taking into account the region's high investment attractiveness. In her words, the region consistently ranks among the leaders on this indicator and holds second place in the nationwide ranking, which makes it a promising venue for international projects and attracting investors.

She also emphasized that the event is focused on practical benefits. The forum will serve as a platform for exchanging experiences, signing contracts and developing concrete solutions in the field of foreign economic activity.

"We want participants to leave not only with business cards but also with ready-made solutions that can be applied in practice," Teselkina said.

A quota of 150 free places has been allocated for enterprises of the Nizhny Novgorod Region to participate in the forum. Organizers expect this will help industrial companies expand their foreign economic ties and enter new markets. This quota is currently filling up actively, so priority is given to companies already operating in the foreign economic market.

Such participants include operating enterprises engaged in foreign economic activity.

"Today this concept goes beyond simple exports and imports — it involves the comprehensive implementation of large investment projects that require a high level of professional expertise. These processes involve not only manufacturers, but also logisticians, marketers, lawyers specializing in international law, as well as experts in customs regulation," Teselkina added.

At the forum an agreement will be signed between universities of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and industry partners to create additional professional education programs in the field of foreign economic activity. The initiative is aimed at training specialists who will be able to work in an international environment.

"We want FEA specialists to be trained in the region and to stay here to work," Teselkina emphasized.

According to her, the forum will traditionally conclude with a final resolution that will include proposals from business and the expert community. Some of these have already served as the basis for legislative initiatives, including at the government level.

Earlier it was reported that 15 cooperation agreements were signed at the SEZ forum that took place in Nizhny Novgorod on September 18.
