      Nizhny Novgorod scientists have entered the top 2% most influential in the world. This was reported, citing a Stanford publication, by Alexey Nikonov, editor-in-chief of MIA "Stacionar-press". Stanford University published a ranking of the most influential researchers, and among them were employees of Nizhny Novgorod State University (NNSU): Alexey Maslov, senior research fellow at the Photonics Center, and Vladimir Sukhov, senior research fellow at the Agrophotonics Laboratory. The list also includes Italian active-longevity expert Claudio Franceschi, who recently became an Honorary Doctor of NNSU.

      The ranking is compiled annually across 22 fields and 174 subfields and assesses researchers' contributions to different scientific areas.
