Residents of Nizhny Novgorod report mobile internet outages in the upper part of the city. The first complaints began arriving over the weekend.
According to social media users, problems accessing the network were observed in the "Switzerland" park. Some residents suggested that the outages might be related to a jazz festival held at that venue.
However, the disruptions continued into the start of the work week. On the morning of 22 September, Nizhny Novgorod residents began to complain en masse about poor mobile internet service in the area of Belinsky Street, Lyadov Square and the adjacent streets.
In particular, a reader told NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" that she had been unable to connect to the internet on Pushkin Street since the morning.
Back in the summer, the regional government explained that the internet sometimes does not work due to enhanced security measures aimed at countering UAV attacks. At that time, residents of the regional center complained about the lack of mobile internet in the lower part of Nizhny Novgorod. Now problems have arisen in the center as well.
It was also reported that the authorities of Nizhny Novgorod Region plan to equip more than two hundred free Wi‑Fi access points in public places.
