      Downpours with wet snow are expected in the Nizhny Novgorod region on the last weekend of September. The bad weather will be brought by the cyclone "Bernvard", meteorologist Evgeny Tishkovets said.

      The North Atlantic cyclone "Bernvard" will arrive in the central part of Russia as early as the beginning of next week, bringing with it a cold atmospheric front and marking the start of a change in climatic seasons. Rains will begin on Wednesday, skies will darken and the air temperature will drop to +10…+12 °C.

      On the last weekend of September wet snow may even come with the downpours. First the cyclone will cover Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Mordovia, Ulyanovsk, Penza, Samara and Kirov regions, and then it will move into the Nizhny Novgorod, Ivanovo, Vladimir, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Tver, Ryazan, Moscow, Tula and Vologda regions.

      "The thing is that a private cyclone that formed in the Volga region in the middle of the week on the wave of a cold atmospheric front, having inhaled Arctic air, will strengthen, begin to gain power and reverse course — it will start shifting toward Meshchera. The collision of moist air with cold northern winds may lead to wet-snow mixed in with downpours in places: on Friday in the Middle Volga and Volga-Vyatka regions, and on Saturday — in the Upper Volga, in the north and east of Central Russia," the meteorologist said.

      Earlier on the pravda-nn.ru website it was reported that meteorologists had said what the weather in the Nizhny Novgorod region would be like in October.
