       SocietyThe Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, has taken an interest in an emergency bridge in the village of Pustyn, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. This was reported by the agency's information center.

      The head of the Investigative Committee instructed that a report be made on the progress and results of the inquiry following an appeal from residents who reported that the wooden road bridge in the settlement is in a deplorable condition. According to them, the supports and decking are deteriorating, and there are through cracks on the bridge surface. There is a risk of collapse.

      As a result, passage for vehicles, including emergency service vehicles, to socially significant facilities and residential houses is severely impeded. At the same time, citizens' appeals to the authorized bodies have produced no results. Reconstruction of the bridge is planned only for next year.

      The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Nizhny Novgorod Oblast has opened a procedural check. Alexander Bastrykin instructed the head of the regional directorate, Ayrat Akhmetshin, to present a report on the preliminary and final results of the check.

      The execution of the instruction is under the control of the central office of the Investigative Committee.

      Earlier Alexander Bastrykin requested a report on the case of the damaged road in the village of Kileley.
