The head of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Gleb Nikitin, stated that Nizhny Novgorod has become a true "youth capital of the world." He reported this on his Telegram channel.

According to the governor, the city achieved this unofficial but honorable status thanks to hosting the World Youth Festival gathering (12+), which brought together about 2,000 participants from more than 120 countries.

Nikitin recalled that in 2023 Nizhny Novgorod won the contest and received the title "Youth Capital of Russia." At that time, he admitted, no one expected that just two years later the city would become a meeting place for active and talented young people from around the world.

The head of the region emphasized that one of the festival's main objectives is the development of international youth cooperation. He noted that it is the youth who determine what tomorrow will be like.

"It was very interesting to hear how foreign participants perceive Russia's historical heritage, and they also appreciated our experience in training management personnel. They shared their ideas and projects aimed at developing international partnerships," the governor said.

Gleb Nikitin expressed confidence that festival participants will take away not only the knowledge gained through the educational program but also warm memories of Nizhny Novgorod — a city with an authentic, sincere Russian atmosphere.

Earlier it was reported that the Phygital Games 2025 (12+) are taking place in Nizhny Novgorod.
