The rabies quarantine in the Spassky District has been lifted.

      The rabies quarantine that had been in effect in the Spassky Municipal District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region since July 2025 has been officially lifted. The corresponding decree was signed by the region’s governor based on the submission of the chairman of the regional veterinary committee, Mikhail Kuryumov.

      According to the document, the quarantine is cancelled as of 16 September 2025. A previously effective decree dated 7 July 2025 No. 133, which introduced restrictive measures in connection with the detection of a rabies outbreak, was also declared void.

      It should be noted that in July the village of Russkoye Maklakovo was declared rabies-affected, where an epizootic outbreak of the disease was recorded on a local resident’s household plot.

      Earlier it was reported that a rabies quarantine was introduced in Lyskovo from 9 September.
