      In Nizhny Novgorod, the results of the all-Russian screenplay laboratory for films and TV series "First Adaptation" were summed up. The final pitching took place with the support of the Team of Creative Practices.

      More than 300 applications were submitted to the competition for adaptations of works by Russian authors. Forty-five projects that completed the laboratory's educational program made the long list. The jury then selected nine scripts from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Lipetsk and Arkhangelsk to take part in the final stage.

      The expert council included Deputy Minister of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Mikhail Pelchenkov, Editor-in-Chief of the Internet Development Institute Tatyana Matveeva, film producer Dmitry Yakunin, HSE lecturer Tatyana Chernetskaya, founder of the Kinofaktura studio Evgeny Kudelnikov, screenwriter Natalia Yudina, creative producer of ANO "Integration" Evgeny Subochev and director of GTRK "Nizhny Novgorod" Nazariy Zeleny.

      Following the discussion, three finalists were named. They are Evgenia Kazantseva from Arkhangelsk with the series "The Cast-Iron Cabin Boy," and Nizhny Novgorod authors Yulia Kaplina with the project "The Prophetic City" and Marina Solovyeva with the work "Different Doors."

      Producers of the Kinofaktura studio noted that they will continue to cooperate with other participants of the laboratory. The finalists will begin refining their scripts and shooting teasers, which are planned to be produced within the production laboratory "First Adaptation" by the end of 2025.

      It was reported that demand for film extras in the Nizhny Novgorod region has tripled.
