The drama "Bo-Bo" starring Yevgeny Tsyganov's son is being filmed in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Filming of the drama "Bo-Bo" (16+) is underway in the village of Buslaevo in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The film tells the story of special children and their acceptance in society. The plot is based on the personal experience of screenwriter and director Anastasia Kuzina, for whom this work became her feature debut.

      According to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod", the film’s main character is a girl with a hemangioma on her face. Because of her condition she becomes an outcast in her native village. Between her mother's hopes for surgery, her grandmother's rituals and the mockery of her peers, the girl seeks support in singing in the choir and in a friendship with a boy who accepts her as she is.

      The lead roles are played by young actress Darya Alkhova, who previously appeared in the films "Batya 2. Ded" (12+) and "Detka" (16+), and Alexander Tsyganov, son of actors Evgeny Tsyganov and Irina Leonova. Olga Lapshina, Marina Lebedeva and Sergey Kolesnikov also take part in the filming.

      The creators note that the topic of hemangioma has previously been raised mainly in medical or documentary projects. In the film it is treated as a severe trial for the child and the family, and also as an occasion to reflect on human fragility and strength, and on how the support of loved ones can be both help and a test.

      Darya Alkhova emphasized that her character is a girl who strives to be loved but faces bullying and misunderstanding solely because of an external feature. According to the actress, it is a responsible role that helps viewers understand the importance of accepting one another.

      Alexander Tsyganov noted that participation in the project was an experience of searching and doubt for him. His character Yurka faces difficult decisions that do not always align with the actor's personal views. The work, he said, made him look at life differently and taught him new things.

      Filming is taking place with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture, the regional government and the film commission of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Locations include the villages of Buslaevo and Raskaty, the village (selo) of Troitskoye, and Moscow. The premiere of "Bo-Bo" is scheduled for 2026.
