      Preparations for the heating season were discussed at a meeting of the Legislative Assembly committee on housing and communal services and the fuel and energy complex. This was reported by a correspondent of NIA "Nizhny Novgorod".

      As acting Minister of Energy and Housing and Communal Services of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Mikhail Kurenkov noted, this year preparations are being carried out under new rules established by Order No. 2234 of the Ministry of Energy. A readiness assessment system has been introduced, assigning an index to each facility. All data are centralized in a single repository accessible to Rostekhnadzor. This has reduced the number of findings during inspections.

      At present, the readiness level of most facilities exceeds 90%. In particular, generating companies have secured fuel stocks significantly above the norms: fuel oil — more than 51,000 tons (300% of the norm), coal — 26,000 tons (500%). In the budgetary sector, fuel reserves of all types have also been formed in volumes exceeding 100%.

      The region’s housing stock is also almost entirely ready for the heating season. According to the first deputy head of the State Housing Inspectorate of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Dmitry Petrov, of 26.9 thousand apartment buildings, 97.7% have received readiness certificates. The main reasons for delays are major repairs and outstanding orders from the inspection. All work to address the findings is under control.

      The State Housing Inspectorate conducted selective inspections of more than 1,300 buildings where heating problems had previously been recorded. The inspections revealed 258 violations and 39 warnings were issued. Particular attention was paid to the condition of chimneys, ventilation, heating systems and electrical networks.

      Earlier it was reported that the heating season in Nizhny Novgorod will begin on September 23, while in Dzerzhinsk and Bor it will begin on September 22.

      It was also reported that Nizhny Novgorod’s "Teploenergo" has completed preparations for winter.
