"Krasnoye Sormovo" launched a self-propelled single-deck dry-cargo ship.

       EconomyAt the Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard in Nizhny Novgorod, a ceremonial launching of a dry cargo ship of the RSD59 project took place. This was reported by the enterprise's press service.

      The ship was built according to the working design documentation of the Volga-Caspian Design Bureau, part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC). It is a self-propelled, single-deck dry cargo ship for sea and mixed (river-sea) navigation of the "Volga-Don max" class. The vessel is fitted with two cargo holds and two azimuthing rudder-propeller units (VRKs).

      The dry cargo ship is intended for transporting a wide range of cargoes: general and bulk, sawn timber, metal, scrap metal, coal, hazardous and heavy cargoes. Thanks to its versatility, economy and environmental friendliness, the vessel can operate effectively both on inland waterways and in marine conditions.

      The vessel has a length of 140.88 meters, a beam of 16.98 meters, a side height of 6 meters and a draught that depends on operating conditions: 3.6 meters in rivers and 4.53 meters at sea. Deadweight is 5,128 tonnes at river loading and 7,535 tonnes at sea. The cargo hold volume reaches 11,292 cubic meters. The vessel's endurance is up to 20 days in river operation and up to 12 days in marine conditions. Ship class — KM Ice2 R2 AUT1-ICS CONT (deck, cargo holds Nos.1.2) DG (bulk, pack).

      Earlier it was reported that Krasnoye Sormovo launched the new cruise liner "Nikolay Zharkov", which became the first ship of the "Karelia" project.
