      Society — On September 13, the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, paid a working visit to the Spassk municipal district, inspecting key sports and healthcare infrastructure facilities.

      The first stop was the modular ski base "Kruglaya Roshcha" in Spassk, built in 2024 under the physical culture and sports development program. The base has become a hub for young athletes from the local children and youth sports school (DYuSSh), offering locker rooms, showers, toilets and event areas. Equipment rental is planned this year, which will increase access to sports activities.

      The governor then inspected the Spassk Central District Hospital (CDH), which includes an 89-bed inpatient facility and an outpatient clinic with a capacity of 400 visits per shift. Together with the head of the district, Tatyana Biryukova, Deputy Governor Andrey Checherin and Health Minister Galina Mikhailova, he checked the condition of the hospital.

      Special attention was paid to the surgical and therapeutic departments, which were renovated under the national project "Healthcare" from 2021 to 2023. The governor noted the high level of equipment and the professionalism of the medical staff under the leadership of Andrey Ganenkov.

      This year, as part of the "Long and Active Life" project, the second floor of the inpatient facility was renovated, with about 10 million rubles allocated for interior refurbishment, water supply system upgrades and modernization of the bacteriological laboratory.

      Two new feldsher-midwife stations are being built in the Spassk district in the villages of Yelkhova and Vysoky Oselok. Almost 16.8 million rubles from the budget have been allocated for their construction and equipping.

      Gleb Nikitin also visited facilities prepared for the 625th anniversary of Spassk. As a gift to residents, the People's Historical Museum was renovated and equipped with modern equipment. An "open-air museum" area for exhibitions and master classes has been created.

      Another facility opened for the jubilee is the youth center "Vector." It is a modern space for leisure and creativity operating under the MolodezhNO brand. More than 200 events for 3,500 people took place there over the year. The center is actively involved in patriotic work, collecting 14 shipments of humanitarian aid for participants in the SMO.

      Governor Gleb Nikitin and Deputy Minister of Internal Regional and Municipal Policy Dmitry Grachev visited the family of a mobilized participant in the SMO in Spassk. The regional head spoke with the serviceman's wife, daughter and son.

      "The head of the family, Artyom, was home recently and has gone back to the front. Under our military social contract, the wife and children receive the necessary support; the head of the district is monitoring support for the fighters and their families. Our hero's daughter is in 9th grade and is interested in landscape design. We'll arrange for her to meet specialists from ASIRIS and learn about their work," Nikitin said.

      On the same day the governor visited the village of Bortsurmany in the Pilninsky district, where, together with the head Sergey Bochanov, he inspected the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The church is undergoing restoration to preserve its historical appearance and create comfortable conditions.

      The church is important to the village, as on August 17 they celebrate the day of the discovery of the relics of Saint Alexius of Bortsurmany, a symbol of spiritual unity and cultural heritage. The village also has a museum of the saint, which attracts pilgrims and tourists.

      They also visited Spasskaya Secondary School. More than 460 children study there, including 60 children with disabilities. The school comprises a building from 1962 and an annex from 1990. An agricultural classroom has been equipped, and the school cooperates with the crop production enterprise "Vpered." At the governor's instruction, the regional Ministry of Education has taken up the issue of updating the school's furniture.

      Following the trip, the governor held a working meeting with the head of the Spassk district, Tatyana Biryukova, to discuss the development of the territory. Special attention was paid to road infrastructure, building repairs, the operation of the technical college, water supply and culture. Relevant agencies were given corresponding directives.
