      The meeting in Kaliningrad against the winner of the 2024 Higher League in rugby turned out to be extremely hard-fought. The home team opened the scoring with an accurately taken penalty kick. Before the break, Khimik player Alexander Kasyutich restored parity with a precise penalty kick – 3-3. Early in the second half Khimik went ahead thanks to another penalty from Kasyutich, and then the rugby players from Dzerzhinsk scored a try in the corner of the in-goal area, earning another five points. Seven minutes before the final whistle the Kaliningrad side reduced the gap to a minimum thanks to their try and conversion. The final assault brought no success for the hosts – our team withstood the pressure and celebrated its sixth victory in the PARI Higher League regular season. Recall that in one championship match Stepan Efremov’s charges drew with CSKA. Thus, Khimik is the only one of the eight clubs in the Higher League who has not tasted defeat this season. "We played last year’s champion," emphasized RC Khimik head coach Stepan Efremov, "on their field. Naturally the match was expected to be difficult, but we won. In the second half we managed to reduce the number of infringements. That allowed us to have more possession of the ball, which led to points being scored. Next comes the playoffs. The stakes there are much higher."

      The "Final Four" will take place from October 23 to 26 and will be held in Kaliningrad.
