      Society. A member of the Public Headquarters for Election Observation in the Nizhny Novgorod Region and deputy chair of the Public Chamber of Nizhny Novgorod, Roman Permyakov, commented on the course of voting in the municipal elections.

      "First of all, it is necessary to note the transparency of the electoral process and the high level of voter trust. Therefore there are very few scandals now; that has become a thing of the past. I hope the city has completely turned the page on that chapter of its history.

      As for public observation, in the Nizhny Novgorod Region we have one of the most progressive and technologically advanced election monitoring systems in Russia. We share our experience with colleagues from other regions: this includes the work of the stream studio 'ObserverNO', mobile teams, the 'hotline', and experts of the Public Election Observation Headquarters. Everything is open, accessible to a wide range of voters, and constructive cooperation has been established with the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Election Commission.

      I should note that the Public Headquarters employs a large number of experts, activists, and members of the regional Public Chamber who are not members of political parties and who monitor the situation at the elections almost around the clock," Roman Permyakov said.

      Reminder: on 12, 13 and 14 September 2025, 1,275 polling stations are operating in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Residents of the region are electing deputies to representative bodies in the regional center and in 17 territorial divisions of the region.
