United Russia opened a situation center for election observation in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Politics. The work of the situational center in the region traditionally accompanies elections at all levels: from municipal to federal. In 2025 observers will monitor the voting over three days: from 12 to 14 September. Information is collected by independent observers who have undergone preliminary training. These are volunteers and concerned citizens. In the event of recorded violations or provocations at polling stations, observers pass the relevant information to the regional situational center.

      “In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 18 municipalities are electing representative bodies. In Nizhny Novgorod, elections are being held for deputies of the city duma. High activity is being noted at the polling stations. People come to vote in whole families; everyone is in a festive, uplifted mood. I should note that so far the center has not received a single complaint. We see that the elections are proceeding as normal, calmly,” said Alexey Antonov, deputy chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and head of the United Russia party faction in the regional parliament.

      Reports on the situation at polling stations and the progress of the elections are transmitted to the Federal situational center, which operates at the party’s Central Executive Committee. Information about each violation undergoes a detailed check.

      “We are monitoring information on voter turnout. Turnout is quite good; there are polling stations where voters have even formed small queues. This shows the importance of the elections for the residents of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and their readiness to fulfill their civic duty and contribute to determining the future development of their territories,” emphasized Dmitry Filipenko, head of the regional executive committee of the United Russia party.

      The system of situational centers is one of the mechanisms that ensures the transparency of voting and the legitimacy of election results.

      Recall that in the Nizhny Novgorod Region the main elections are being held for deputies of the city dumas of Nizhny Novgorod, Dzerzhinsk and Sarov, as well as elections to the Councils of Deputies of the city districts: the cities of Kulebaki, Bor, Chkalovsk, Navashinsky, and the municipal districts of Balakhninsky, Bogorodsky, Buturlinsky, Vadsky, Diveyevsky, Koverninsky, Lyskovsky, Pavlovsky, Pochinkovsky, Tonshaevsky, and Urensky.
