An art installation has appeared in Dzerzhinsk, drawing attention to the problem of missing children.

      An art installation intended to draw public attention to the problem of missing children has appeared in Dzerzhinsk. A mural—the first in the region—was ceremonially unveiled on the wall of the building at 41 Gaidar Street, created at the initiative of the volunteer search-and-rescue team "LizaAlert." The project was implemented with the support of the Volunteer Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the administration of Dzerzhinsk using funds allocated following the results of the municipal competition for social projects of the city district.

      On the large canvas measuring 120 square meters, created by artist Dmitry Zakharov with the active participation of the unit’s volunteers, a girl is depicted surrounded by passersby in a stylized urban space. The central element of the mural is the slogan: "Only you can help her!" which addresses people, reminding them of personal responsibility and the ability of every individual to contribute to saving a child.

      "When a child goes missing, volunteers do not call their name loudly and abruptly. Instead, they quietly, gently, more often in female voices, say: 'Sweetie…' This is how they address another person’s child so as not to frighten them, but to help them find their way back to their loved ones," emphasized Svetlana Klyukvina, regional representative of the volunteer search-and-rescue team "LizaAlert."

      The creation of the mural became part of a large-scale information campaign by the search unit "LizaAlert," aimed at informing the broader public about the problem of children going missing. Such art installations serve as a powerful visual tool that helps build a culture of responsibility in society and also helps attract new participants to the ranks of search volunteers.

      "It is a great honor for us to support such a significant project. The search community is one of the most active and vivid examples of voluntary selflessness, energy in serving people and goodness. This mural carries a crucial social message meant to remind everyone of our shared responsibility for the safety of children. We are confident that art can reach hearts and unite people around such an important mission," said Maria Samodelkina, General Director of the Volunteer Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
