
Ticks continue to attack residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

The tick activity season in the Nizhny Novgorod region will continue until October. According to the regional Rospotrebnadzor, ticks enter a second period of activity in the autumn.
As of 11 September, 8,953 people, including 2,674 children, sought medical care in the region.
The most cases were recorded in Pavlovsky District, Dzerzhinsk, Bor, Kstovo, Vyksa, Gorodets, Shakhunya, Vetluga, Urensky District and Semyonov.
In Nizhny Novgorod, complaints most often came from Avtozavodsky, Leninsky, Prioksky and Sovetsky districts.
Emergency prophylaxis with immunoglobulin was given to 1,533 people, of whom 1,476 were children.
The tick-borne encephalitis virus was detected in 29 ticks collected in 10 districts of the region, including Shakhunya, Pavlovo, Uren, Bogorodsk and Dalny Konstantinov. Also identified were 1,527 ticks infected with Borrelia, 193 with Anaplasma and 34 with Ehrlichia.
To date, 7 cases of tick-borne encephalitis have been confirmed. Also, 139 cases of borreliosis have been registered, 8 of them in children.
A total of 11,672 people have already been vaccinated against tick-borne encephalitis, of whom 1,588 are children.
Earlier it was reported that an ARVI quarantine was imposed in 17 classes of one school and in 23 groups across 20 kindergartens in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
