Geolocation-based payments are now available on buses in Nizhny Novgorod.
Fare payment using geolocation has become available on buses in Nizhny Novgorod operated by JSC Nizhegorodpassazhiravtotrans. Previously, this option was provided on trolleybuses and e-buses, the Ministry of Transport of the Nizhny Novgorod Region said on its Telegram channel.
To use the new feature, a passenger must link a bank card in the mobile app "Nizhny Novgorod Region Transport"; enable geolocation on their smartphone; and then confirm the payment in the app. After a successful payment, an electronic ticket will appear on the device’s screen, which should be presented upon the inspector’s request.
The app can be downloaded via the QR code posted in the vehicle cabin, as well as through the official Google Play and App Store.
Earlier, the site pravda-nn.ru reported that payment by geolocation would soon become available on Nizhny Novgorod buses.
