      A large fire broke out at a ship repair yard in Gorodets. The blaze started on a river dry-cargo ship that was undergoing repairs.

      According to the Emergency Ministry for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the report of the fire was received at 15:00 on 10 September. During gas-welding work, the cladding in the ship's hold caught fire.

      The fire covered an area of 600 square meters. The fire was promptly extinguished. There were no injuries or fatalities.

      Earlier it was reported that 11 people were rescued from a fire in an apartment building on Gagarin Avenue in Nizhny Novgorod.
