A company from Nizhny Novgorod paid more than 18 million rubles for defective turnbuckles, the Main Directorate of the Federal Bailiff Service for the Nizhny Novgorod Region reported.

Turnbuckles (devices for adjusting the tension of cables, ropes, or chains) of Nizhny Novgorod manufacture were used by an enterprise from Murom during the construction of supports for an overhead power line. However, a year after the line was put into operation an accident occurred — the supports collapsed because the parts did not withstand the declared load.

The court found that the cause of the accident was the delivery of products that did not meet the terms of the contract and upheld the Murom company's claim.

The manufacturer was ordered to pay 17,140,000 rubles in compensation for the damages. A bailiff from the Avtozavodsky District of Nizhny Novgorod initiated enforcement proceedings, but the company ignored the requirement to voluntarily repay the debt.

As a result, funds in the bank account were frozen, and the entire sum together with the enforcement fee (over 18 million rubles) was recovered. The proceedings were completed by actual execution.

Earlier it was reported that Nizhny Novgorod debt collectors were fined 16.6 million rubles for violating citizens' rights.
