      The Government of the Russian Federation has approved the distribution of subsidies for 2026–2027 to modernize medical equipment under the regional projects "Combating Oncological Diseases." According to the government decree, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast is allocated 67.7 million rubles.

      A total of 7.4 billion rubles was distributed among 56 regions. The funds will be used to upgrade equipment used in radiological methods of diagnosis and therapy for oncological diseases, as well as to further equip and re-equip medical institutions.

      More than 3.9 billion rubles will be allocated to the regions for 2026, and more than 3.5 billion for 2027. For Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, funding is provided only for 2026.

      Earlier, the regional government shared plans to build an oncology center as part of the "City of Health" project. It is planned to be implemented jointly with Rosatom on the basis of the Semashko Regional Hospital and the existing oncology dispensary.
