      The Nizhny Novgorod Region ranked 11th in the all-Russian ranking of regions by labor market condition. The results of the study were prepared by RIA Novosti analysts, based on Rosstat data for 2024.

      When preparing the ranking, RIA Novosti experts analyzed eight indicators reflecting the labor market situation. The calculation included the level of employment, working conditions and pay, as well as the market’s capacity. A composite score was formed on the basis of these data: the higher it is, the more stable the region’s position. The scoring scale ranges from 1 to 100, with 100 representing the most favorable situation.

      Compared with 2023, the national average increased by 4.57 points. The range of values was from 98.04 to 6.73.

      The Nizhny Novgorod Region’s rating score for 2024 was 84.31, whereas in 2023 it was 78.43.

      Analysts note that the leading regions in the ranking retained their positions. Moscow again took first place with a result of 98.04 points. It was followed by St. Petersburg – 97.95 points. Moscow Oblast remained third with 97.51, and the Republic of Tatarstan held fourth place with 89 points. Sverdlovsk Oblast took fifth position (86.56 points). The only change within the top ten was the appearance of Novosibirsk Oblast, which pushed Tyumen Oblast out.

      Experts note that the leading regions feature high wages, low unemployment and substantial labor market capacity.

      The outsiders were Ingushetia, Dagestan, Tuva, Chechnya, North Ossetia–Alania and Karachay-Cherkessia. All of these subjects scored below 40. Compared with the previous year, the number of such regions decreased by three. The main difficulties here are low pay and high unemployment.

      Earlier it was reported that in 2025 more than 7,000 residents of Nizhny Novgorod found jobs with the help of an employment center.
