A preliminary inquiry has been opened into the deaths of two people in a fire in the Voskresensky district, the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Nizhny Novgorod Region reported.
The fire broke out in a residential house in the village of Channikovo. The bodies of a man and a woman were found in the ashes. Their identities are being established.
Investigators examined the bodies and found no signs of foul play. A forensic medical examination has been ordered.
A fire-technical examination will help determine the cause of the fire.
Earlier it was reported that two people were taken by ambulance to the hospital as a result of the fire.
