Society. Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region can take part in the project "Heroes Are Not Born. Our Days!" (12+). It is aimed at uniting citizens of Russia of different nationalities around the most important events related to the conduct of the special military operation (SMO), as well as at shaping moral values, patriotism, a conscious need to defend the Motherland, strengthening of the spirit, and fostering courage in the younger generation through examples of service to the Fatherland by participants of the SMO.

To join the project, you must send a story about a participant of the SMO by October 1, 2025. Stories can be written individually or collectively — by a family, class, or organization. Stories (at least 2,000 characters including spaces) and photographs should be sent to the email [email protected]. When sending the email, you must provide the name and surname of the story's author or the authoring collective, and contact details for communication.

Following the collection of stories, a jury that includes Heroes of Russia will select the most interesting stories — they will be included in the sixth volume "Heroes Are Not Born. Za Rodinu!". It will be presented to the authors on October 23, 2025 at the Victory Museum in Moscow at a formal award ceremony for the winners of the project.

The collections with stories about SMO heroes will also be delivered to the Victory Museum, the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, the Museum of the Defense of Moscow, the Multimedia Museum Complex "Road of Memory" of the Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces. In addition, the collections will be given to Russian soldiers serving in the SMO zone.

The project "Heroes Are Not Born. Our Days" is organized by the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the city of Moscow together with the non-profit foundation "International Integration Technologies."
