The façade of Children’s Music School No. 3 named after N.K. Guselnikov has burst into bright colors: the building has been “dressed up” in rich hues and received, as a decorative gift, an image of a treble clef. This became possible thanks to the participation of the institution’s leadership and proactive residents in the governor’s "You Decide!" project. Last week the results of the work were evaluated by the head of the city of Dzerzhinsk, Mikhail Klinkov.

      An example of teamwork

The school’s director, Svetlana Proskurina, warmly welcomed the honored guest. Showing him the freshly painted façade and the brand-new ramp, also installed under the program, she told Mikhail Petrovich about the progress of the repairs and shared her impressions.

The head of the school noted that the idea for the project arose back in February during a conversation with the district deputy Denis Savinov. He allocated funds from his personal fund for the preparation of documentation, after which an initiative group, including pupils’ parents, submitted an application to participate in the "You Decide!" program.

“Thanks to everyone who supported our project! Having won, we received the maximum possible amount. Additional funds were allocated from the city budget, and residents also helped. This is an excellent example of effective joint work!” said Svetlana Vyacheslavovna.

According to the director, the young musicians will be very happy to see such a bright renovated school façade at the start of the new academic year. When the surroundings are beautiful, it is even more pleasant to enjoy the creative process and achieve success, Svetlana Proskurina is convinced.

The contractor, who completed the work efficiently and on time, agreed with that statement. The repairs were carried out from early June through August — during the summer holidays so that the improvement process would in no way interfere with the young talents. As clarified by the site manager of the contracting company, Sergey Chekmarëv, there were no difficulties during the execution of the order.

“The project was well thought out from the start. Having discussed the tasks with the client in detail, we purchased the materials in advance and began the repairs on the agreed dates. We were in constant contact with the school’s leadership and, if questions arose, we resolved issues on the spot. We plastered the façade, then carried out welding work and moved on to the painting stage — in short, we did everything that was required of us,” emphasized Sergey Nikolaevich.

      Applications are still being accepted

The head of the city was able to appreciate not only the building’s façade — as the hospitable hostess of the institution, Svetlana Proskurina invited Mikhail Petrovich on a tour of the school. The honored guest was told about the pupils and alumni, shown the rooms where the young musicians practice, taken to the library and to the unique chamber concert hall “Maestro,” where important events take place and audiences enjoy performances by leading Russian artists.

Mikhail Klinkov noted the staff’s sincere dedication to their work, thanking the teachers for their professionalism, the students for their creative efforts, and their parents for supporting their children and for wanting to help the institution where they study become even more beautiful.

“The results of the repair work are very worthy! The modern bright building has transformed the entire neighborhood; the equipped ramp and entrance have made the educational institution a barrier-free area. This is a magnificent example of an initiative implemented within the framework of the governor’s 'You Decide!' project. I remind you that applications to participate in the program are being accepted until September 15. From the proposals received, a list of objects for improvement next year will be formed. I urge city residents to take part in the voting and to encourage acquaintances to do so: let us together contribute to the development of the city, making it even more beautiful and modern!” said Mikhail Petrovich.

Meanwhile, the music school staff are not stopping at what has been achieved and plan to participate in the "You Decide!" project again: if they win in the program, the funds will be used to install fencing and tidy up the adjacent territory.
