Scammers posing as bank employees duped an elderly woman from Nizhny Novgorod.

      Phone scammers deceived an elderly resident of Arzamas by posing as bank employees. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      An unknown person called the 70-year-old woman on her mobile phone. He convinced her that a suspicious transaction on her bank card had been canceled in order to preserve her money. Under pressure he obtained the grandmother’s bank card details as well as the confirmation passwords. As a result, 150,000 rubles were stolen from her account.

      A criminal case has been opened in connection with the fraud.
