A Public Council is being created in Nizhny Novgorod to address issues concerning the future of the "Vodnik" stadium. It will include local residents, representatives of sports communities, parent activists and coaches.
According to the city administration press service, the Council's formation is already in its final stage. Participation has been confirmed by the chair of the TOC of the Gorkovsky microdistrict, Tatyana Fomicheva, and the coordinator of the "Football Moms of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" community, Oksana Shlykova.
The decision to create the body was announced at a meeting with residents held at the TOC "Gorkovsky". The dialogue lasted about an hour and a half. Officials and residents discussed the reasons for the stadium's closure, routes around the site and the upcoming changes to the facility.
According to Artur Shtoyan, director of the Department of Social Communications and Youth Policy, the Council will become a platform for regular interaction between the authorities and the local community.
"There is still a lot of work ahead. We will meet, discuss, and all of this will involve those who live here and care," he emphasized.
The Council's first meeting will take place in the near future.

Later a decree appeared on the mayor's website stating that 14 permanent capital structures on the "Vodnik" grounds are planned to be demolished.
