Fourteen capital construction objects will be demolished at the "Vodnik" stadium. This is stated in the decree of the Nizhny Novgorod administration dated 13 August 2025.
The list of structures to be dismantled includes the football field, the hockey rink, two tennis courts, two fences, two garage blocks, the running track, the judges' booth, the stands, a transformer substation, a figure skating school and the sports club building.
Recall that from 29 August access to the "Vodnik" grounds was completely closed because the facility was declared unsafe. Talks about a possible reconstruction of the stadium have been ongoing for more than 15 years, but nothing has been done.
In February 2025 it became known that the plot could be put up for auction as part of a comprehensive territory development program. The city administration's decree also states that the recognition of the facility as unsafe is related to preparations for the implementation of the KRT project on the territory of non-residential development.
To date no work is being carried out at the unsafe stadium. As the mayor’s office reported, the Institute for the Development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Agglomeration is developing a master plan for the future use of the territory. At the same time, authorities emphasize that the facility will retain its sporting function and remain accessible to residents.

Earlier it was reported that the construction of a new heated football field near the FOK "Meshchersky" was estimated at 155 million rubles.
