A criminal case was opened after an incident involving a pensioner in the Gorodetsky District.

      Officers of the MO MVD of Russia “Gorodetsky” have identified the circle of persons involved in committing unlawful acts against an elderly woman.

      According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, a criminal case has been opened on the grounds of an offense provided for in part 2 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of moderate bodily harm).

      The victim is currently in a medical facility. After receiving treatment, the woman will be sent for an examination to determine the degree of severity of the harm caused to her health.

      It has been preliminarily established that the legal guardians of two minors involved in the incident are on preventive supervision. The question of bringing them to the liability established by law for failure to fulfill duties in supporting and raising minors is being considered.

      “After the discovery of this outrageous situation in the family, which has long been under the scrutiny of guardianship authorities not only in our district, measures were taken together with the police to isolate the teenager, who is the main suspect in this emergency. Investigative actions are currently being carried out with him, so law enforcement colleagues have more reliable information. On our part, via the guardianship authorities, we promptly convened a council, at which it was decided to initiate the process of restricting the parents’ rights with regard to the other children in the family, since other preventive measures have been exhausted and, as we can see, did not have the proper effect, which resulted in this terrible incident,” Alexander Mudrov, head of the Gorodetsky district, said on his Telegram channel.

      “Today, together with the school, we are carrying out measures to establish the whereabouts of the children after school, since, according to available information, their mother has left the region and handed the girls to an aunt who is not their legal representative. Understanding all the fuss around the topic, we will provide comments, where possible, promptly but tersely, so as not to traumatize other participants in the situation,” Alexander Mudrov said.
