In two and a half weeks, lovers of an active lifestyle will gather again on the Volga Embankment in Nizhny Novgorod. On September 20, next to the Sovcombank Arena stadium, a big Running Day (6+) will take place, combining two events at once — the "Cross of the Nation" and a relay race: the 76th for the prizes of the Government of Nizhny Novgorod Region and the 99th for the prizes of the newspaper "Nizhegorodskaya Pravda".
Distribution of bibs to participants of the "Cross of the Nation" will begin in advance — on September 18 and 19 — but they can also be collected on race day. To participate, you must register on the Gosuslugi portal and choose one of the offered distances. There are seven options in total: 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, 6000, 8000 and 12000 meters.
The opening of the all‑Russian Running Day will take place at 9:45, and from 10:00 participants of the "Cross of the Nation" will begin to head to the start, running across all distances for three hours. At 13:00 the relay race for the prizes of the regional government and the newspaper "Nizhegorodskaya Pravda" will begin.
The relay will include men's and women's teams from sports clubs, physical culture groups of enterprises and organizations, schoolchildren and students, as well as combined teams from fitness and wellness complexes and sports schools, including Olympic reserve schools. Teams from executive authorities will also take to the start.
A reminder: at the end of September a charity run called "Strength of Life" (16+) will take place on the embankment of the Rowing Canal.
