      In August 2025, more than 200 people went missing in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by representatives of the search-and-rescue unit "Volunteer" operating in the region.

      According to the organization, 211 requests for help in searching for missing persons were received during the month. Of that number, 185 people were found alive. Another two, unfortunately, were found dead.

      In three cases the unit was not involved in the searches because the volunteers' assistance was not required.

      At the moment 21 people remain missing. Search operations continue.

      Earlier it was reported that volunteers had established the fate of 2,300 missing people in 2025 in the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod region. And in June the fate of 19 people remained unknown in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
