      A traffic accident involving an ambulance and a passenger bus occurred on Ilyich Avenue in Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by the press service of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GIBDD) for the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      According to preliminary data, the ambulance was on its route and en route to one of the city’s hospitals. At that time a PAZ minibus was exiting from a residential lot. The minibus driver failed to yield and collided with the medical vehicle.

      As Alexey Nikonov, editor of the news agency "Statsionar-Press," said, at the time of the accident there were three underage patients in the ambulance. The children were being transported to an infectious diseases hospital.

      Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. All three were examined by specialists from the regional children's hospital. After that they were taken to the medical facility to which they had originally been headed.

      The circumstances of the incident are being clarified. Traffic police officers are conducting an investigation.

      Earlier it was reported that a car carrying five teenagers was involved in an accident and overturned on General Ivliyev Street in Nizhny Novgorod.
