On September 1 in Dzerzhinsk, the chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Evgeny Lyulin, took part in ceremonial assemblies dedicated to the start of the new school year. He visited Secondary School No. 17 and Gymnasium No. 38. Also that day in Nizhny Novgorod, in Switzerland Park, the speaker of the regional parliament addressed first-year students of the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Management — a branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).

On Knowledge Day the speaker of the regional parliament visited Secondary School No. 17 in Dzerzhinsk. At the school students study mathematics, chemistry, biology, computer science and social studies in depth. In addition, the school hosts the Pervye, Yunarmiya and Orlyata Rossii movements, and operates a school theater and a media center. Students regularly become winners and prize-winners of all-Russian Olympiads and sports competitions. Evgeny Lyulin thanked the teachers for finding and developing young talents who will bring fame to the city, region and country in the future.

In the city of chemists the chairman of the Legislative Assembly also visited Gymnasium No. 38, which is among the top 20 best schools in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast and has confirmed this status with a certificate from the RAEX rating agency for five consecutive years.

“Over the years 375 medalists have graduated from our school, and the average Unified State Exam (EGE) score in 2025 was 75. More than 80 percent of students entered higher education institutions on a state-funded basis. We have much to be proud of and much to strive for — we are confident that the new school year will become another bright chapter in the history of our gymnasium,” said the gymnasium’s director, Ekaterina Shchepina.

A distinctive feature of the school is in-depth study of English and cooperation with schools from twin towns, such as Gymnasium No. 2 from Grodno and School No. 3 from Khartsyzk.

“I’m even a little envious of the kids who will study at these schools. It’s not enough to have talent. You also need a teacher who will ignite you like a torch. I wish the students to meet such a mentor! And to the teachers I wish pupils whom we can all be proud of,” said Evgeny Lyulin.

On the same day Evgeny Lyulin also addressed students at the ceremonial assembly “Day of the Firsts,” which took place in Switzerland Park in Nizhny Novgorod. More than 1,100 first-year students of the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Management — a branch of RANEPA — gathered there. In his speech he emphasized that today the university is one of the region’s leading scientific and educational centers, training highly qualified managers. Among its alumni are well-known Nizhny Novgorod politicians and public figures. The institute actively cooperates with the Legislative Assembly: students do internships there, and deputies and staff share their experience in lectures.

“The deputies highly value the strong partnership between the Institute and the Legislative Assembly, which has developed over years of fruitful work. I wish the students always to strive for new knowledge and discoveries, remembering that education is a continuous process. Set high goals and, through your future achievements, contribute to the development and prosperity of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast and all of Russia,” said the chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Evgeny Lyulin, in his address.
