The intersection of Osharskaya and Oktyabrskaya streets in Nizhny Novgorod will be closed to traffic for almost two weeks, the city transport department reported.

The restriction will be in effect from 00:01 on September 3 until 23:59 on September 18, 2025. The reason for the closure is the reconstruction of tram tracks on Osharskaya Street. During this time, monolithic tram slabs are planned to be constructed at the intersection.

A detour around the closed section will be organized via neighboring streets. Drivers are advised to familiarize themselves in advance with the changes to the traffic scheme, to be especially attentive, and to follow the road signs.

Additionally, the changes will affect public transport operations. According to CRTS, buses on routes No. 1, 4, 40, 64, 68 and 97 heading toward Minin and Pozharsky Square will be redirected via Osharskaya, Akademika Blokhina and Varvarskaya streets. A new stop — "Varvarskaya Street" — will be added on the route.

In the opposite direction, buses will run along Varvarskaya, Oktyabrskaya and Osharskaya streets.

Earlier it was reported that on September 2 a new phase of tram track reconstruction began on Ilyinskaya Street, affecting the section from Maslyakova Street to the turn onto Dobrolyubova Street. Traffic on that section has temporarily become one-way.
