Nizhny Novgorod residents will be able to observe a total lunar eclipse on September 7, according to the website of the G.M. Grechko Planetarium.
According to the planetarium's specialists, this is a rather rare astronomical event for the capital of the Volga region, occurring once every few years.
The first contact of the shadow (the beginning of the eclipse) can already be observed with the naked eye at 19:25. The start of the total phase of the eclipse will be visible from 20:20 to 20:40. The total phase of the eclipse will end between 21:45 and 22:00.
Meanwhile, the AstroAlert Telegram channel, founded by astronomer Stanislav Korotky, calls the upcoming lunar eclipse one of the best in the coming years.
