      Two women fell ill at the ceremonial assembly at Nizhny Novgorod School No. 74 on September 1. This was reported on his Telegram channel by the editor-in-chief of the medical publication "Stacionar Press," Alexey Nikonov.

      According to him, fortunately the chief physician of Polyclinic No. 30, Lyubov Trefilova, who had come to the school as the mother of a first-grader, was present at the event. She promptly rendered first aid.

      "I revived one of the victims, the other was attended to by the school nurse. We laid them on the ground, elevated their legs, gave them smelling salts, monitored their pulse and ruled out a stroke," Trefilova said.

      Doctors suspected one of the women had orthostatic hypotension — a condition in which blood pressure drops sharply when standing up from a seated position. She was advised to urgently see a cardiologist.

      Earlier it was reported that on September 1 more than 144,000 schoolchildren will take their seats at desks in Nizhny Novgorod, including 14,000 first-graders.
