      In Nizhny Novgorod on the morning of 31 August an accident occurred involving a route bus and an elderly cyclist.

      According to the press service of the regional traffic police, the accident happened at about 8:20 on Krasnykh Zor Street near building No. 23. According to preliminary information, an 86-year-old man was riding a bicycle on the roadway. At some point he began to turn left — outside the intersection — directly in front of an approaching bus on route No. 76.

      A LiAZ bus was traveling from Chaadaev Street toward Krasnykh Zor Street. The bus driver did not have time to react, and a collision occurred.

      As a result of the impact the cyclist was injured and was taken to Hospital No. 39. According to preliminary data, the man was intoxicated.

      An administrative investigation has been opened into the incident. Law enforcement agencies are establishing all the circumstances of the accident.

      Earlier it was reported that in Dzerzhinsk in the Nizhny Novgorod region, as a result of a collision between a Chevrolet and a Granta, they crashed into a bus stop: one person was injured.
