High school and college students from Nizhny Novgorod can sign up for free programming courses as part of the "Code of the Future" program.

      A new intake has opened on the Gosuslugi portal for free courses in modern programming languages under the "Code of the Future" program. Participants can be students in grades 8–11, and students of colleges and technical schools studying IT specialties.

      Teenagers can choose one of 42 courses lasting from 144 hours offered by 16 universities and IT companies. Training is held both in-person and online, and places are limited.

      "For the kids, three training directions are available: programming, artificial intelligence and robotics. Graduates of past 'Code of the Future' projects and 'Code of the Future. Artificial Intelligence' can also apply to participate, but only for courses in programming of professional-level difficulty," noted Alexander Sinelobov, Minister of Digital Development and Communications of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      The courses cover Python, C++, JavaScript, C#, 1C and other modern programming languages. For choosing in-person courses, more than 2,000 venues in 88 regions are available to residents of Nizhny Novgorod. Those who successfully complete the program can receive additional points for the Unified State Exam (USE) when applying to a number of universities.

      To enroll, you need to choose the format and direction on the Gosuslugi portal. You can apply for only one course — this can be done by the schoolchild or college student themselves, or by their parent or other legal representative. After the documents are checked, a link to the entrance test will appear in the personal account. Having passed the test successfully, you can sign up for the course corresponding to your level of preparation. Classes can begin this autumn.

      Recall that training personnel for the digital transformation is part of the tasks of the new national project "Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State." It came into effect in Russia on January 1, 2025, by order of President Vladimir Putin. "Data Economy" is the successor to the national project "Digital Economy."
