Minister of Property and Land Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Sergey Barinov reported on the current state of restoration work on two historic buildings on Sennaya Square in Nizhny Novgorod. In his Telegram channel he described the progress of the restoration of the Chardymov House and the Samgin House.

According to the minister, both buildings are gradually being transformed. At the Chardymov House (a cultural heritage site) the roofing work has been completed — the so‑called "roofing assembly" is fully finished. This week specialists will begin filling the window openings.

As for the Samgin House, windows have already been installed and insulated glass units have been purchased. The building's walls have been prepared for the application of exterior plaster.

The ministry expects that the façade work on both sites will be completed in October. The dismantling of the scaffolding is also planned then. The full restoration of the buildings is planned to be completed by the end of 2025 — early 2026.

Recall that in June 2025 the restoration project for the Chardymov House, a designated cultural heritage object, received state expert approval. Restoration work on the heritage site, which was seriously damaged in the 2022 fire, began last spring.

It was reported that a food service outlet will open in the restored Samgin House.
