A party delegation inspected the progress of work on equipping Gorodets' cultural institutions.

      An inspection led by regional coordinator of the federal party project “Culture of the Small Homeland,” Sergey Gorin, was held in Gorodets. The party task force visited the Historical and Art Complex and the Meteor leisure center.

      “Museums play a crucial role in educating children. By learning about the history of their small homeland, a child sees familiar places in a new way. Love for one’s native street, village, or town is the foundation on which a sincere patriotic attitude toward Russia grows. Today in Gorodets we are checking how the provision of modern equipment is progressing. Re-equipping cultural institutions is aimed primarily at making museums attractive to contemporary children, so that ‘journeys into the past’ become engaging and interesting for kids,” emphasized the chief adviser to the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region and regional coordinator of the party project “Culture of the Small Homeland,” Sergey Gorin.

      Gorodets’ museum quarter includes eight exhibition spaces, each harmoniously combining historicism and innovation. The delegation’s visit aimed to provide technical equipment for the “Museum of Childhood on Kupecheskaya Street.” The institution’s premises were extensively renovated last year. In 2025 the interactive multimedia complex “History of the Toy” is being installed.

      “This modern multimedia exhibition will immerse museum visitors in different eras. Guests will see what childhood was like in past centuries. A unique sense of presence is achieved through the use of various expensive pieces of equipment. We expect the museum to be equally interesting for children and adults,” said Larisa Kafarova, head of the culture department of the Gorodets municipal district administration.

      Various modern technologies are being used to equip the complex. A tactile display with built-in lighting will be available to museum visitors. Four artistic installations will tell about Gorodets painting and about axe-carved, bast and clay toys. An animated sequence will introduce children and adults to the technology of assembling a traditional toy. A gobo projection will immerse museum guests in the world of Soviet fairy tales and cartoons.

      “Ten million rubles were allocated from the federal budget for the purchase of multimedia equipment for the museum. We have been waiting for this for a long time. Thanks to modern technology we will be able to implement all our plans and complete the formation of the exhibition. We plan to be fully operational very soon — in October 2025,” said Tatyana Volkova, director of the Gorodets Historical and Art Museum Complex.

      The second stop on the party task force’s program was the Meteor leisure center. The venue plays an important role in the public and cultural life of the Gorodets municipal district. The center hosts the most significant events: festivals, conferences, congresses and other large-scale events.

      Within the framework of the party program “Culture of the Small Homeland,” the management of Meteor had the opportunity to purchase modern equipment in the amount of more than 2.5 million rubles. The largest recent purchases were a professional concert acoustic system and an LED screen. According to the leisure center’s staff, the professional level of events has improved significantly.

      “The Gorodets municipal district is rightfully considered one of the main cultural and tourist centers of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Of course, we pay great attention to museums, houses of culture, community centers and concert halls. Participation in ‘Culture of the Small Homeland’ makes a substantial contribution to the implementation of our initiatives. Over five years of the party project’s work, about 5 million rubles have been attracted for the modernization of cultural institutions. This undoubtedly plays an important role in increasing the district’s attractiveness both for local residents and for visitors from the region and other parts of the country,” noted Alexander Mudrov, head of the Gorodets municipal district local government and secretary of the local branch of the United Russia party.

      The inspection was attended by activists from the regional and local branches of United Russia and representatives of the Gorodets administration.

      The party task force is an effective tool for rapid monitoring of the region’s development and timely response to residents’ requests. One of the project’s most important tasks is monitoring the implementation of the United Russia party’s people’s program.

      Recall, the goal of the party project “Culture of the Small Homeland” is to ensure broad access to cultural sites; to preserve and popularize the cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia; and to foster the spiritual and moral education of children and youth.
