A hotel with a Russian cuisine restaurant will open in Vetluga for 45 million rubles.

      An agreement to build a new hotel in Vetluga was signed in August 2025 by Igor Ishchenko, General Director of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation; Sergey Lavrenov, head of the Vetluzhsky municipal district; and individual entrepreneur Olga Yumakova.

      According to Igor Ishchenko, the first negotiations on the project took place in May as part of a roundtable dedicated to the development of tourism in Vetluga. He emphasized that the north of the Nizhny Novgorod Region has high tourist potential, and the Corporation, together with the business community, is actively working on developing the sector.

      "We will provide the investor with all necessary support at every stage of implementation. The Vetluzhsky district will receive a new convenient space to accommodate tourists," Ishchenko said.

      The project foresees investments of 45 million rubles. The hotel will be located in a historic building in the city center. Plans also include opening a restaurant of 19th-century Russian cuisine. Implementation is scheduled for 2026–2028.

      Specialists from the Development Corporation have already advised the entrepreneur on available forms of state support, clarified restrictions related to protection zones of cultural heritage sites, and organized cooperation with government authorities.

      "Support from the Corporation's team allows us to promptly resolve operational issues. I feel there is strong interest in the project and I am confident that together we will successfully implement it," Olga Yumakova emphasized.

      Since 2022, six territorial managers of the Development Corporation have been operating in the region. They assist investors in municipalities remote from the regional center. In the Vetluzhsky district this work is carried out by Galina Zaitseva.

      Contact details for the managers and the list of districts they are responsible for are published on the investment portal of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      It should be recalled that since 2025 tasks to improve conditions for investors and their support have been included in the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy", initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

      It was reported that the Nizhny Novgorod Region was noted among the leading regions in implementing the reform of hotel classification.
