The female aardvark, recently born at the Nizhny Novgorod "Limpopo" Zoo, has been given the name Hiba. It was chosen by the residents of Nizhny Novgorod themselves. This was reported on the zoo’s Telegram channel.
Recall that a rare baby aardvark was born at "Limpopo" in July. The Nizhny Novgorod zoo became the second in Russia where this unusual animal was born. The first baby was born in Yekaterinburg.
A month later, zoo staff invited Nizhny Novgorod residents to choose the name for the little one themselves. City residents could vote for one of eight African names: Ada, Amara, Makena, Nala, Hiba, Habika, Shade or Faiza. The majority of participating voters chose the name Hiba for the tiny aardvark, which means "gift."
