Incidents
The Bogorodsk prosecutor's office checked compliance with legislation in the field of digital currency circulation. During the inspection it was established that from June 2024 to July 2025 mining rigs were operating on the territory of the gardening non-commercial partnership (SNP) "Sunny Valley" in the Bogorodsk district, illegally connected to the power grids.
As explained by the regional prosecutor's office, such a connection powered cryptocurrency platforms and led to unmetered electricity consumption amounting to more than 4 million rubles.
The inspection materials were forwarded to the preliminary investigation authorities. Based on them a criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 165 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — causing property damage to the owner or other possessor of property by deception or abuse of trust without signs of theft, committed on a particularly large scale.
The illegal activity of the mining farm has been stopped.
The progress and results of the investigation are under the supervision of the city prosecutor's office.
Earlier it was reported that five mining farms caused 33 million rubles in damage to Nizhny Novgorod energy companies.
