      Incidents

      A probe is being carried out in the village of Sukhobezvodnoye in the Semyonovsky urban district of the Nizhny Novgorod region into the death of a man as a result of a fire.

      According to preliminary information, the incident occurred on 26 August 2025. A fire broke out on the premises of a private residence, and after it was extinguished the body of a 46-year-old man was found.

      An investigator from the Semyonovsky interdistrict investigative department of the regional directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia arrived at the scene. He initiated a procedural check.

      During the initial examination of the body, investigators did not find signs of a violent death or injuries of a criminal nature.

      A fire-technical examination has been ordered to establish the exact cause of the ignition. According to the preliminary version, the fire may have been caused by careless handling of fire.

      Earlier it was reported that investigators are studying the circumstances of a woman's death in a fire in the Spassky district.
