      The awarding of the winners of the federal stage of the party project program "World of Opportunities" took place in Nizhny Novgorod

      A solemn ceremony to honor the curators and federal winners of the programs and actions of the "World of Opportunities" project was held at the Public Support Headquarters of United Russia. The main themes of the contest entries were: family, health, the Great Patriotic War, Crimea and Sevastopol.

      "Today's schoolchildren are the people who in some 25–30 years will be building our country. The welfare and strength of Russia will depend on them. In this light, it is obvious how important it is for kids to know history. And in a very broad sense: the history of their own family and of their native country. In other words, raising true patriots is a strategic task that is part of the party's People's Program. And today, seeing the happy faces of the project's winners, there is confidence that our country has great prospects," said Dmitry Filipenko, head of the executive committee of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the United Russia party.

      "World of Opportunities" launched in 2022. The project includes several directions: the foundations of Russia's spiritual culture, family history — the history of the country, the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a healthy lifestyle, digital financial security, career guidance, Russian Crimea and Artek.

      "The party project 'World of Opportunities' has united thousands of children across the country. In the past school year, 563 people from the Nizhny Novgorod region took part in contests and campaigns. These are very serious numbers. Forty-six kids became regional winners and three won the federal stage. I hope that in the new season Nizhny Novgorod schoolchildren will show the same lively interest in our project and will represent the region with dignity at the all-Russian level in 2025–2026," said Natalya Smotrakova, regional coordinator of the party project "World of Opportunities."

      For the first time, residents of Nizhny Novgorod became winners of the federal stage. In the 2024–2025 school year, the contest "Time to Be a Leader" of the all-Russian program "Heritage of Victory: Strength in Unity" was won by three students from Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod region: Dmitry Kireev, Elizaveta Arutyunyan, and Mariana Balanovskaya.

      "The kids are great and very clever. I am pleased with their achievements and proud that thanks to them the region looks respectable at the federal level. These victories are the result of tremendous work and the talent of the laureates themselves, and at the same time an assessment of the effectiveness of the adults' work. It's pleasant to think that the success was aided by the supplemental education system built up in recent years, the measures adopted by the administration and supported by deputies to develop youth activity and support gifted children," shared Inna Vankina, chairwoman of the standing committee of the City Duma on social policy.

      The winners of the federal stage were presented with letters of appreciation, prizes and a trip of their choice: to St. Petersburg or to Yaroslavl and Rostov Veliky.

      "The kids' victory is the result of a lot of work. The curators, under whose guidance the competition entries were prepared, played an important role in the preparation. And, of course, the parents. Without maternal and paternal attention it is quite difficult to become a winner. We hope that this year's prizewinners will share their experience in the new season. I believe that this approach will strengthen our region's position and open the path to new achievements," commented Natalya Polyashova, head of the Department of Vocational Education and Upbringing of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      According to the curators, the secret of the Nizhny Novgorod youths' success was their sincere and open approach. The contest projects stood out for their unconventional solutions and the emotional depth of the personal stories.

      "For the contest I submitted a story about how my great-grandmother during the war was a partisan in Babi Yar. I had to put in a lot of effort. First I prepared a 50-page report and a presentation. They became the basis for my contest entry. The victory really inspired me. I think I will definitely take part in the contest next year," shared Elizaveta Arutyunyan, winner of the federal stage of the "Time to Be a Leader" contest of the "World of Opportunities" project.

      "The victory was very unexpected for me! Of course, I'm very happy about it: it's nice that our idea was valued so highly. We, the kids, held a quiz-survey on the streets of the city among passersby. We asked: What do you know about the history of Crimea and Sevastopol? Those who named the correct facts received a small souvenir from us," said Mariana Balanovskaya, winner of the federal stage of the "Time to Be a Leader" contest of the "World of Opportunities" project.

      Reminder: the goal of "World of Opportunities" is to involve citizens in social activities related to the country's historical and spiritual heritage, patriotic education, and the formation of civic identity. It is one of 22 party projects aimed at implementing United Russia's People's Program.
